Prerequisites

  • ChatGPT account with Connectors support
  • Advanced / Developer Mode available in ChatGPT settings
  • Choose sandbox or production URL:
    • Sandbox: https://sandbox-mcp.openshopgo.com/mcp
    • Production: https://mcp.openshopgo.com/mcp

Hosted connection (ChatGPT UI)

Section titled “Hosted connection (ChatGPT UI)”
  1. Open ChatGPT.
  2. Click Profile -> Settings.
  3. Go to Connectors.
  4. Turn on Advanced / Developer Mode.
  5. Go to Settings -> Connectors.
  6. Click Add Connector.
  7. Choose Custom MCP Server.
  8. Enter the server details:
    • Name: OpenShop
    • Server URL: https://sandbox-mcp.openshopgo.com/mcp or https://mcp.openshopgo.com/mcp
    • Description (optional): OpenShop MCP tools for store management
  9. Click Connect.
  10. If prompted, complete OAuth login in the browser and return to ChatGPT.
  11. Review tool permissions and choose one:
  • Allow automatically
  • Ask before using
  • Never allow
  1. Open a new chat, click Use Connectors, and select your OpenShop connector.
  2. Send a prompt and verify ChatGPT calls MCP tools successfully.
